FREE Crochet Pattern - The Penelope Pouch

I am so excited for two reasons.

1. This is my first blog post. (So please bear with me if the writing isn't great.)

2. This is my first FREE crochet pattern! Woohoo!

I hope you enjoy this pattern. It is available for free here on my blog, but you can also purchase an inexpensive PDF version in my Etsy shop.

The Penelope Pouch is the perfect project for any level crochet. It uses primarily single crochet and it is a quick and easy weekend project. Using a surface slip stitch, you can make any design you want to and add fun tassels or pom-poms to have a completely customized pouch!

Do you like this pattern? Pin it for later!

Row 14-33: Ch 1 and turn. Sc in the first st. Sc to the end of the row. (38 sts)

Ch 1. Sc evenly around the edge. (approx. 78 sts- This number does not need to be exact as long as the sts are even. You will need the amount of stitches around the edge to be the same for both the front and back panels.)

        Tie off and weave ends.

Blocking is recommended to help with shaping.

Using Color B, do two rows of surface slip stitch around the edge of each panel to create a double line border. You may also choose to create a design of your choice.

        ASSEMBLY:

Lay your two panels on top of each other with the right sides facing out. Using Color B, join your yarn at the top left corner and single crochet around to the top right corner. You will need to go through the loops on both panels to join them together. Tie off and weave the ends.

        OPTIONAL:

If you would like to, you can add a zipper, snaps, or closure of your choice. You can also add tassels or pom-poms.

You are done! I hope you enjoy your Penelope Pouch!
